Hello, I'm Genevieve, Photographer & Mom
Our Journey
I live in the beautiful city of Eau Claire, WI with my husband & our sons Isaiah & Luka. Micah & I decided to move back to our home state in the fall of 2016 to be close to family once again. We had many exciting adventures in Colorado for 4 years & Costa Rica for a year before that. We chose Eau Claire because it was centrally located between our parents. Little did we know that we would have a baby in a couple years. I’m so happy I became a mom while we were so close to our family!
Beginning With Photography In Costa Rica
After college Micah & I moved to Costa Rica where we lived for a year. I shot my first wedding there on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. Costa Rica is an incredibly dreamy place full of inspiration. I remember having a lot of fun with some of my first ever portrait photo sessions. I also found that I really enjoyed being with children when I started teaching english. A few more of my favorite experiences include being in the ocean, soaking up the magic of the rainforest, learning about the strong family values of Tico culture, drinking fresh & local coffee & the cuisine!
Passion for Photography
I’ve done all kinds of sessions in my life & I know that family photography is my all time favorite. I got super into photography in college when I was given the opportunity to play around with film in the dark room. Since then I’ve switched over to digital & with a deeper appreciation of where photography started. I like to describe my style as playful, warm & loving. Photographing people in nature is my jam. It is a joy to be helping people feel so good about themselves!
Both sides of the camera
I’ve spent many years modeling, which has given me the valuable knowledge & experience to both sides of the camera. I will be glad to help with posing ideas & angles to give you the most captivating images. I’m also the host on our webshow: Walk About Talk About. I’ve spent a good amount of time in front of the camera talking with people I’ve never met before. Check it out at www.walkabouttalkabout.com.
